2. Local Device Storage & Data Retention

To provide a smooth, customized learning experience without connecting to external servers, certain feature data is stored locally and exclusively on your physical device (via SQLite and Android SharedPreferences):

• Search History: Recent terms you have searched or reviewed.
• Bookmarks & Favorites: Terms you have starred for quick study.
• Personal Notes & Custom Words: Any custom words, factory parameters, or classroom study notes you create.
• Theme Preferences: Dark mode and text size scaling preferences.

Important: This data remains stored locally inside the application's private sandbox storage on your smartphone. It is never uploaded to any remote server or cloud infrastructure.

3. Data Deletion & User Control

Because all user data is stored solely on your local device, you maintain full control over your data at all times:

• In-App Deletion: You can delete any individual favorite, custom word, or clear your entire search history directly within the app settings.
• System-Level Deletion: You can permanently wipe all locally stored application data at any time by going to Android Settings > Apps > Textile Dictionary > Storage > Clear Data / Clear Cache.
• Uninstallation: Uninstalling the application automatically deletes all locally stored files, preferences, and cached terms.

4. Third-Party Services & Network Access

The core dictionary, search, acronyms, calculators, and study modes function 100% offline without requiring internet access. The network permissions declared in the Android Manifest are used solely for the following standard services:

• Google Play Services: Used for standard app updates, crash diagnostics, and API integrity verification handled natively by the Google Play Store runtime.
• Google AdMob (If Enabled): The app includes standard Google Mobile Ads SDK integration. In compliant builds where banner or educational reward ads are served, Google AdMob may use device advertising IDs strictly in accordance with Google's Advertising Policies and EU/US privacy standards. You can reset or opt out of personalized ad tracking anytime via your Android system settings (Settings > Google > Ads).
• Text-to-Speech (Audio Pronunciation): English word pronunciations are rendered using your Android device's native built-in speech engine. No audio recordings are recorded or sent over the internet.

5. Children's Privacy (COPPA & Google Play Families Compliance)

Textile Dictionary is designed as a safe, wholesome educational reference companion for students of all ages, including children under 13. In full compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), GDPR, and Google Play Families Policy:

• We do not collect personal data from children or any other users.
• We do not feature behavioral profiling, tracking, or inappropriate content.
• Parents, educators, and students can use the application with complete confidence in their privacy.
